The National Pain Foundation (NPF)

Our mission is to be a credible and highly effective resource to empower all persons in pain, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, or economic or social status, to improve their lives through education, advocacy, communication networks and community participation. The methods for achieving our mission are as follows:

  • Coordination of information technologies
  • Community outreach
  • Linking people in pain to resources
  • Linking resources to people in pain

A 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the NPF is dedicated to improving the lives of people in pain by providing education and support through its interactive, peer-reviewed Web site, www.NationalPainFoundation.org and through increasing awareness of the profound effects persistent pain has on all aspects of an individual's life.

The NPF updates its site monthly with relevant information regarding medications and treatment options, complementary therapies, health and wellness, family and emotional issues related to chronic pain and stories of those who are triumphing over pain.
